Instructions on how to get there:

Drive out South Dock Road, past South Dock the road changes to dirt and terminates at the old Mariner Hotel. The trail head is before you get to the end of the wire fence, about 1/3 of the way going toward the hotel.
Trail to the c arvings

The trail is dirt and kind of rocky, best to wear good shoes. It angles up toward the summit of the hill which is just above the Mariner Hotel. When you have a good view of Sapodilla Bay at the summit, the carvings will be beneath your feet.

Be sure to drive out the road leading West from South Dock Road just across from the Shell Depot (before you get to South Dock). It's a great place to take some scenic shots of the incredible turquoise-green Chalk Sound. The color comes from the reflection of the sky off the silt bottom.
